Stable Angina or not?

Post a new topicby ehbland on Sat Jan 12, 2008 10:10 pm

I am a 57 year old male who had unexpected quad bypass surgery in April 07. My vein graph failed in Sept and I had the rotor blade angiogram to open my left main. I have completed re-hab and working out daily. I did not have a heart attack no muscle damage. When I work out on my treadmill, I am experiencing an "ache" in the entire chest area (different from the mid sternum pressure feeling prior to bypass surgery) for the first 5 to 10 minutes, then after my body warms up, the ache subsides and I can continue my 45 min workout without discomfort. I am not sure if this is considered stable angina. I am puzzled that the chest discomfort will decrease after my body has warmed up and my level of workout continues to increase.

Hello ehbland,

Thank you for participating in the forum. I'm sorry to hear about your heart problems. There is physician-developed and monitored information on signs and symptoms of stable angine on this website at the following link:
http://www.cardiologychannel.com/angina/symptoms.shtml

I hope this information is helpful. Physicians who monitor these forums respond to some posts but not to all, so please continue to post in the forum as you learn additional information.

I wish you the very best.
