Which type of angina? The articles don't make it clear.

Post a new topicby jonorway on Sun Feb 17, 2008 11:45 pm

I'm 67 and had a "minor" heart attack about 17 years ago. No problems since, and no angina. Early last fall, while riding in a car (resting) I had an angina-like "event" that lasted about 20 minutes or so. I would not classify it as severe at all, just unfomfortable, and worrisome.

Then, the other day, I was sitting still for a longer period of time, at my PC and it happened again, so I began researching the incident online. I came up with roughly 2 possibilities, but neither of them seem to fit totally. They are: "unstable angina", "variant" or "prinzmetal's" angina. I'm confused, because in my reading they seem to make a point of the pain being severe, and I can't say that that's my case. Otherwise it seems to really fit the rest of the descriptions for both of these types (My doctor said after the first one that it was angina. He didn't further clarify it.)

Anyone have any thoughts about that?
