There is hope!

Hello, my name is paige and have been diagnosed with interstitial cysitis [cystitis] now for close to 7 years. I am 23 years old and work full time on top of being a full time student and find it frustratingly hard to face everyday life. I suffer from severe lower back pains, as well as pelvic pain. I am sad that there is no immediate relief from these symptoms. I have tried taking Elmiron, and while it somewhat helped I suffered hair loss and developed stomach ulcers from that medication, so I ...Read the full article

Hey I like the fact their is hope. I have three questions I hope you can answere. 1 Were you able to lay on your stomach at all when you sleep? 2 When you tuoch or rub the area where your bladder is because it hurts does it hurt you? 3 Does it hurt to sit for any lenghth of time? I'm just wondering doctor ruled out ic but, what I read some of my symptoms do line up. 60 days in pain now with no relief and no answeres. Thanks for your story

Hi, I'm Marikay. I was just diagnosed with IC today and am trying desperately to look at the bright side. I keep telling myself that it is not cancer and it could be worse. Having said that, I am still nervous about the idea of taking the medication mentioned by the doctor, Elmiron. How long did it take before you experienced the side effects? Did you stop taking the medication and did the side effects go away when you stopped. How did the doctors diagnose your IC to begin with? Sorry to ask so many questions but there is so much that I do not know and I need help from someone who understands.

Thank you. Marikay
