Foods To Avoid With IC??Hi. Can somebody give me some basic foods to avoid other than the obvious ones, like spicy foods and lots of caffeine? I read somewhere that wheat products were bad for IC and I've been eating a high fiber diet that contains a lot of wheat. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Foods To Avoid With IC??Hi! My urologist gave me a chart that specifically had on it foods to avoid. Some of them were: lima beans, onions, tofu, store-bought tomatoes, aged cheeses, eggs, sour cream, yogurt, and chocolate. Of the Carbs, it said to avoid rye and sourdough breads. Meat/fish category included: aged, cured, canned, processed or smoked meats/ fish, chicken livers, and canned beef.
Hope this is helpful. Debbie

Anything that ups your hormones will be problematic if you have to much of it--soy products, which raise your estrogen, for example. Apparently rye and sourdough breads are a bad idea for a lot of IC patients. I've also heard pecans and hazelnuts.
